Brian Corson, LCSW, CAADC, CRPS

Founder & Chief Executive Officer, MVP Recovery

Brian Corson is a nationally recognized behavioral health executive, licensed clinical social worker, certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor, certified relapse prevention specialist, and a trauma-informed care professional. With more than a decade of leadership in the substance use and mental health treatment field, Brian has built one of the region’s most comprehensive and innovative behavioral health systems entirely from the ground up.

Widely regarded as an expert in behavioral health, Brian has been featured by NBC10, 6ABC Action News, CBS KYW, Fox Philadelphia, the Delaware County Daily Times, and The Philadelphia Inquirer for his clinical expertise, program development, and advocacy efforts.

Brian has collaborated with Pennsylvania State Legislators to help establish statewide standards for recovery housing, advancing protections for individuals and families in recovery. His advocacy has also extended into the criminal justice system, where, during his service in county oversight initiatives, he supported the expansion of modern Medication-Assisted Treatment services in an effort to reduce recidivism and strengthen continuity of care for individuals returning to the community, reinforcing his commitment to supporting families and improving public safety outcomes.

Throughout his career, Brian has developed some of Pennsylvania’s most effective warm handoff programs for adults, adolescents, families, and first responders. These initiatives recognized statewide and nationally, close critical gaps in care and ensure immediate access to treatment. Brian remains deeply active in the communities MVP Recovery serves, collaborating with schools, first responders, healthcare systems, and local organizations to support individuals and families affected by behavioral health challenges.

Under Brian’s leadership, MVP Recovery has grown into an integrated behavioral health system that includes a nationally recognized network of DDAP-licensed recovery homes, multiple outpatient and MAT-focused treatment centers, and the region’s first 24/7 behavioral health urgent care. His vision centers on holistic, wraparound care that addresses both substance use and mental health needs and integrates a strong peer support workforce to enhance long-term recovery outcomes.

Brian also serves as an adjunct professor at Widener University, teaching graduate-level courses on substance use treatment, systems leadership, and behavioral health practice, reflecting his commitment to developing the next generation of professionals.

Jason Kilpatrick,

Since 2003, Jason Kilpatrick has been at the forefront of Delaware County’s real estate market, renowned for his commitment to providing quality housing and exceptional real estate management services. As the leader of a highly reputable real estate team, Jason has earned a stellar reputation for his professionalism, integrity, and dedication to client satisfaction.

In 2012, Jason’s path intersected with Brian Corson, and their shared concern for the opioid epidemic gripping their community sparked a transformative partnership. Recognizing the urgent need to support individuals entering the journey of recovery, Jason and Brian united their strengths and resources to establish MVP Recovery in 2014.

As a co-founder of MVP Recovery, Jason plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all MVP residents have access to safe, comfortable living spaces and 24/7 property management services. Under his guidance, MVP properties serve as havens of stability and support for individuals navigating the challenges of substance use recovery.

In addition to his contributions to the operational aspects of MVP Recovery, Jason also leads the MVP Research & Development Department. In this capacity, he spearheads efforts to identify and implement innovative processes and solutions aimed at enhancing support for individuals with mental health and substance use issues. Through his leadership, MVP’s R&D initiatives drive continuous improvement and foster a culture of innovation within the organization.

Jason’s dedication to excellence, coupled with his passion for community service and social impact, defines his multifaceted role within MVP Recovery. Chrissie Corson, BS, MA, CRPS

Chrissie is a compassionate and dedicated advocate for individuals in recovery, with a steadfast commitment to supporting women on their journey to sobriety. As the Founder of the WMVP Sober Living Program, Chrissie has created a nurturing and empowering environment where women can find the strength and resources they need to rebuild their lives.

Driven by a passion for helping individuals in early recovery thrive, Chrissie founded the Second Chance Employment Program and Second Chance Parenting program. These innovative initiatives provide vital support and resources to individuals as they navigate the challenges of entering the workforce and parenting while in recovery.

In her role as Coordinator of the MVP CYS Program, Chrissie empowers participants to become fully functional and responsible parents in recovery. Through personalized support and guidance, she helps individuals build the skills and confidence needed to create stable and nurturing environments for themselves and their families.

Chrissie’s dedication to supporting those in recovery has earned her recognition and accolades within the community. She is a recipient of the Delaware County Partner’s Prevention Award, honoring her commitment to serving individuals in recovery throughout the community. Additionally, Chrissie was appointed to the Delaware County Women’s Commission, where she continues to advocate for the needs of women in recovery.

Chrissie’s initiatives and advocacy efforts have garnered attention from county, state, and national leaders, earning her an invitation to the White House to advocate for her Second Chance initiatives. Her tireless dedication to empowering individuals in recovery has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals and families.

Chrissie is a graduate of Penn State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She furthered her education at Eastern University, where she graduated with her Master’s in Clinical Counseling. Chrissie is certified in both EMDR Trauma Counseling and Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT), bringing a wealth of expertise and experience to her work in supporting individuals in recovery.

As a person in long-term recovery herself, Chrissie understands firsthand the challenges and triumphs of the recovery journey. She is a proud resident of Delaware County, where she resides with her family, embodying her commitment to fostering hope, healing, and resilience within her community.

Stacie is a seasoned and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor with a wealth of experience in the field of substance use disorder treatment. She earned her Master of Community Counseling Degree and a post-graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University in 2010, laying the foundation for her impactful career in mental health and addiction counseling.

Throughout her career, Stacie has held various roles that have contributed to her extensive expertise in the field. From Substance Abuse Counselor to Service Coordinator and Senior Administrative Director of Substance Abuse Services, she has played a vital role in guiding individuals through the recovery journey. Her experience encompasses a wide spectrum of treatment settings, including assessments for treatment, outpatient treatment, and inpatient treatment.

Stacie’s clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, and she is clinically trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She brings a client-centered focus to her work, recognizing the unique needs and experiences of each individual she serves. Stacie is passionate about the impact of substance use disorder on the community and is dedicated to providing treatment services that are efficient, effective, and inclusive.

With a deep understanding of the challenges and complexities of substance use, Stacie is committed to empowering individuals to overcome obstacles and achieve lasting recovery. Dr. Jaakko Lappalainen, M.D., Ph.D

Jaakko Lappalainen, M.D., Ph.D., is a distinguished board-certified addiction psychiatrist renowned for his expertise in treating individuals grappling with substance abuse, alcoholism, and mental health concerns. Dr. Lappalainen’s extensive training and experience have positioned him as a leading authority in addiction psychiatry, with a focus on delivering comprehensive, evidence-based care to his patients.

Dr. Lappalainen embarked on his medical journey at the esteemed University of Turku School of Medicine in Finland, where he earned his medical degree. He continued his pursuit of excellence by completing his residency training in Psychiatry at Yale University, a renowned institution renowned for its commitment to excellence in psychiatric care and research. Dr. Lappalainen further honed his skills and specialization through a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania, solidifying his expertise in addressing the complex interplay of addiction and mental health disorders.

Prior to joining MVP, Dr. Lappalainen served as the Chief of Addiction Psychiatry at Crozer Health, where he played a pivotal role in shaping addiction treatment protocols and spearheading initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes. His tenure at Crozer Health afforded him invaluable insights into the nuances of addiction treatment and management, further enriching his clinical practice.
Throughout his career, Dr. Lappalainen has held esteemed academic positions, including an assistant professorship at Yale University School of Medicine. His contributions to academia have been instrumental in advancing the understanding and treatment of addiction and mental health disorders.

In addition to his clinical and academic endeavors, Dr. Lappalainen has held senior medical leadership roles in pharmaceutical clinical research and patient safety, where he has contributed to the development of novel treatment modalities and therapies.

James Phillips, MBA

James C. Phillips, Jr. is a seasoned finance executive and healthcare operator with more than three decades of experience building, scaling, and stabilizing mission-driven organizations. He led XMI Holdings for 17 years, growing it to approximately $50 million in revenue while overseeing a full-continuum behavioral health and social service program for indigent and vulnerable populations, including residential, IOP, supportive housing, and the development of a detox level of care. Throughout his career, he has partnered closely with clinicians, community leaders, and public funders to build financially sustainable programs that expand access to care and improve long-term outcomes for individuals and families.

Today, Jim serves as MVP’s Chief Financial Officer, where he focuses on aligning the company’s capital resources with its high-performing programs while preserving its mission, culture, and quality of care. He brings deep domain expertise in corporate finance, M&A, and board governance, complemented by hands-on operational leadership across a wide range of business services, including outpatient behavioral health settings.

Jim is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia with an interdepartmental degree in psychology and management. He went on to earn a master’s degree in business from Vanderbilt University. Most recently, Jim completed more than double the training hours required under Pennsylvania standards for facilitative mediation practices, equipping him with advanced skills to help reduce conflict and restore sustainable relationships
